I’m so glad you’re here checking out The Nourished Mumma. It means that we have a common interest in helping you and your little one become the healthiest version of yourselves.

I strongly believe that what you do in the early years matters the most when it comes to setting your child up for a lifetime of health. I have over 10 years experience working as a weight management, eating and body image psychologist. During this time, I helped women to improve their relationship with food, eating, weight and their body image. I noticed a common theme emerging in my work: negative relationships with food in adults is often related to poor experiences around food in childhood. There is no better time to set up a positive relationships with food than in the early childhood years.

The first 1000 days (pregnancy through to the 2nd year of life) provides a critical window of opportunity to positively influence your child’s life long health. Diet and lifestyle during this period has the ability to influence genetic adaptations in your growing child and can decrease their risk of developing life long chronic diseases and even decrease the risk of developing allergies. What a powerful time to intervene and get things started on the right track.

Being the mother of 2 young girls I understand the struggles that mummas go through when it comes to nourishing themselves and their tribe. I help mummas take the confusion out of nutrition during this time and simplify nutrition and lifestyle changes to make it easy for mummas to implement.

A bit about me personally…

I live on the Sunshine Coast in sunny QLD and love spending my weekends with my family, my 2 little girls and my dog (Biscuit). I love heading to the markets, drinking coffee (what new mumma doesn’t love coffee?), spending time in nature, at the beach and hiking in the local mountains. I have always loved dining out at local healthy cafes eating delicious nourishing food. This was of course before becoming a mum of 2, sitting in a cafe with 2 little ones has made going to a cafe……let’s just say less than appealing these days. As a result I have recently learned to love being in the kitchen at home, attempting to make delicious food as easily as possible.

My Food Philosophy

I have an all foods fit philosophy. I don’t believe in restrictive diets that leave women feeling deprived. Restrictive diets often lead to poor relationships with food and disordered eating behaviours. Mummas that have disordered eating behaviours often unknowingly role model these behaviours in front of their children. This sort of role modelling can lead to the development or unhealthy food relationships and poor body image in children. That is something we definitely want to avoid. I help mummas not only get their nutrition right but also develop healthy relationships with food, so they can become good role models for their children.

If you are trying to conceive, are currently pregnant, breastfeeding or have a little one I would love to work with you to optimise your food and nutrition and give your child the best start in life. Let’s connect!!!
